Village homeowners will elect a new board on Wednesday, October 17 for the 2012-2013 term. There are six candidates for five positions. We start this Meet the Candidates series with Linda Bundy.
Why are you interested in serving as a director and what goals do you want to see accomplished within your term as director?
I am interested in serving as a director for a second term in order to finish the project I have been working on for the past year. I am chairing the Architectural Guidelines Committee which has been working very hard for the past 9 months to update the architectural guidelines that are 10 years old. It has been a huge undertaking and we are getting closer to completing this project. I have worked directly with our architectural consultant as well as with the Dunn Edwards paint representative. We have passed the new color palette and I am working to have the information available on line to help homeowners when selecting new paint colors. I am hoping to streamline our guidelines and update them so they better represent our ever changing and unique community and ensure that navigating through them is a less complicated process. I would like to see my job completed in its entirety. My goal is to see the process become streamlined and fair and impartial for all homeowners.
What is your background and experience? Have you served as a committee member or director for a community association?
I have lived in the Village for almost 10 years. My background is in business, with an emphasis in sales and marketing. I have a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton, and I obtained my M.A. degree in International Business from Sophia University, while living abroad with my husband in Japan. Prior to moving to the Village, we lived in Mission Viejo and I served as a delegate for our community association. Currently, as a stay-at-home mom, I have served for many years on the local PTA board at Tijeras Creek Elementary and as a leader for our Lions Heart group, which is a volunteer service organization for teens. I am comfortable running committees and working with a board to get things done.
Are you currently an owner in the association and if so, for how long?
Yes, 10 years.
Have you served or are presently serving on any committee(s) for the association?
I am currently serving on the Association board as Secretary, and as Chair of the Architectural Guidelines Committee. I also sit on the Architectural Committee.
Other information you would like to provide?
I would like to serve on the CDC Community Association board for a second term because we spent the year updating systems and processes to make things run more efficiently. It was a big task, but one that we took on as a board. We also have a new management representative working for us, which again, was a lot of change but in a very positive direction. I would like to continue on the board to ensure that we keep moving in a positive direction and continue to accomplish the goals that we set as a board.
