2014 Village Budget Update

At the December HOA meeting, the board will be discussing and voting on the 2014 budget. One issue before the board — that may significantly affect the budget — is the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) mandate that the Village follow OCFA’s vegetation management prescription.

The OCFA is requiring communities to maintain vegetation according to its guidelines within the 100-foot area behind all homes. In order to comply, the Village may be faced with an almost 100% increase (2x) in landscape maintenance costs.

The board also will be discussing and prioritizing projects for the year, such as landscape improvements, tree and trail maintenance, new mailboxes and a social committee.

To learn more about the 2014 budget, homeowners may attend the board meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11.

  1. Does anyone monitor this email address. I have been trying to get someone to respond to my request for a speed bump on the lower south side of Via Pato. I have sent many email messages to the association and I have called and left numerous messages and not one email or voicemail have been returned.

Please let me know if you can help.

    Best regards.
