It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a long time Village resident, Ken Upton. Ken passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 15th with his family close by.
Ken and his wife Toni arrived in our community in 1997, and Ken’s love affair with The Village was immediate. He quickly volunteered and endlessly gave his time to the community, serving on several Village committees year after year. Ken held a position on our Board of Directors for over a decade, serving as our Association President for seven years.
All of us Village homeowners today can thank Ken whenever entering our neighborhood. It was under his leadership that Ken fought passionately of the importance of memorializing our community’s identity. As such, Ken championed the design and installation of our Community Monuments at our Via Alondra and Via Veneto entrances, seen by us all each day as we drive by.
Ken would be happy to know that a photo of the Village Monument will also serve as the logo for our new upcoming Association Website homepage.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Ken, Sunday August 5th (time to be announced) at the Coto Valley Country Club Canyon Room. All current and past Village residents are welcome to attend.
